FMS Library Media Program:

The goal of the Frontier Middle School Library Media Program is to create students who are effective, efficient and ethical users of information. Our Library Media Program builds upon the foundation of information literacy skills students were introduced to in elementary school. By instructing students in Information Literacy, through all subject areas, the Library Media Program provides further opportunities for students to achieve and represent the District's commitment to creating self-directed life-long learners.

In addition to providing assistance in selection of appropriate required and pleasure reading, the Library Media Program focuses on development of strong research skills. Students are instructed in the Big 6 Research Process. This research model gives students an explicit step-by-step process for approaching all research. During their middle school experience it is expected that students will practice research skills and the use of research tools so that they are better prepared for in-depth high school research and beyond.
